George Scudder came across so many interesting pieces of information while working for the Hackensack School system that he asked the then Superintendent of Schools in Hackensack,
Carl Padovano, if they would like him to assemble the material in a book form. Carl and the Board of Education were glad to approve such a project and here is the book George Scudder assembled on the city of Hackensack and the Hackensack School system.
George Scudder, in his introduction, explains the material and how he came across it. George Scudder did not put a date on the book, but by the Board members, it looks like he presented this to the city around 1973. There are several copies in a closet in the main office of Fairmount School.
